Ingredients (serves 2–3)
500 g (1 lb) beef (sirloin, flank, or ribeye), sliced thin
1 large onion, chopped
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional but tasty)
1 tsp sugar or honey
1 tsp cornstarch
2 tbsp cooking oil
Black pepper, to taste
Optional: chili flakes or fresh chili for heat
Marinade (for the beef)
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp oil
Black pepper
Instructions
Marinate the beef
Mix the beef with the marinade ingredients. Let it sit for 15–20 minutes.
Cook the beef
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a hot pan or wok.
Add beef in a single layer and sear quickly until browned.
Remove and set aside.
Stir-fry vegetables
Add another 1 tbsp oil.
Sauté garlic, then add onions and bell peppers.
Cook until slightly soft but still crisp.
Combine & sauce
Return beef to the pan.
Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and a splash of water (2–3 tbsp).
Stir well and cook 2–3 minutes until glossy.
Finish
Adjust seasoning with black pepper or chili.
Serve hot.
