Recipe Tips
Before you head off to make a pot pie in the air fryer, read through these recipe tips and substitutions so that you know what you’re up against (don’t worry, it’s easy!).

There is no need to defrost the frozen pot pie first. Just place the frozen pot pie into the preheated air fryer.
We made a frozen chicken pot pie in the air fryer and the brand was Swanson (a popular frozen food brand). There are other brands and other fillings (like beef of veggie) which you can choose to make. Keep in mind that the cooking time might vary slightly.
Our pot pie was 7 ounces so a smaller or larger pot pie will also change the total cooking time.

About Time

  • Prep Time 3  mins
  • Cook Time 22  mins
  • Total Time  25 mins

Ingredients

1 frozen pot pie, approximately 7 ounces

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. While you wait, cut small slits into the top of the crust of the pot pie. These will help with steam release.
  2. When the air fryer is hot, add the frozen pot pie.
  3. Cook the frozen pot pie for 19-23 minutes until fully heated through and slightly crispy on the crust. The internal temperature should be 165 degrees Fahrenheit if it is a chicken pot pie. The exact cooking time can vary depending on your air fryer and the size of the pot pie (larger pies will take longer).
  4. Once the pot pie is done cooking, remove it from the air fryer tray and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  5. Then enjoy – but be careful, it will be hot!
