Air Fryer Eclairs
Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
For the filling:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: chocolate ganache for topping
Instructions:
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium saucepan, bring the water, butter, salt, and granulated sugar to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and add the flour all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan, about 1-2 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the heat and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Then, add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large round tip. Pipe 3-4 inch long strips onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between each strip for expansion.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to work in batches. Air fry the eclairs for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown and puffed up.
- Once done, remove the eclairs from the air fryer and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
- While the eclairs are cooling, prepare the filling by whipping the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until stiff peaks form.
- Once the eclairs are cooled, slice them in half horizontally. Fill each eclair with the whipped cream filling using a piping bag or spoon.
- Optionally, you can drizzle chocolate ganache over the top of the filled eclairs for added decadence.
- Serve and enjoy your homemade air fryer eclairs!
