Air fryer hash browns

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium russet potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped onions, bell peppers, or shredded cheese for added flavor

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the potatoes: After peeling, grate the potatoes using a box grater or a food processor fitted with a grating attachment. Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out any excess moisture.
  2. Season the potatoes: In a mixing bowl, toss the grated potatoes with olive oil or melted butter until evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If desired, mix in chopped onions, bell peppers, or shredded cheese for extra flavor.
  3. Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Cook the hash browns: Once the air fryer is preheated, lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray or oil. Spread the seasoned grated potatoes evenly in the basket, making sure not to overcrowd. Cook for about 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking.
  5. Check for crispiness: After the initial cooking time, check the hash browns for crispiness. If they need more browning, continue cooking for an additional 3-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve hot: Once done, transfer the hash browns to a serving plate and serve immediately while hot.
