Air Fryer Jelly Donuts

Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough see notes
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup raspberry jelly

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees. Spritz basket with oil spray.
  2. Open the tube of biscuits and arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket with room for air to flow between each biscuit. You may need to work in batches.
  3. Lightly spray the biscuits with oil spray.
  4. Air fry for 5-6 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. While the donuts are cooking add the jelly to a piping bag fitted with a long tip, such as a Bismarck tip.
  6. Remove the biscuits from the air fryer basket and quickly dunk in melted butter.
  7. Toss the biscuit donuts in the sugar to coat.
  8. Stick the tip of the piping bag into the center of the donut and squeeze the filling into the donut.
  9. Serve warm.

Notes

Biscuits: You can use any variety of biscuit dough for this recipe. We prefer the taste and texture of the flaky layers biscuits, but the buttermilk biscuits to tend to be easier to fill as they aren’t as likely to split apart.
Jelly: Look for jelly (made with fruit juices) and not jam (made with fruit chunks) as it will be easier to pipe. Use any flavor jellly you prefer.
Topping: For a healthier version, brush the donuts with melted butter using a pastry brush and sprinkle with the sugar. Dunking in the butter and sugar is delicious, but does make for a thick sugar coating and definitely adds a lot more fat and calories.
