Easy Roasted Garlic Cheese Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 French baguette or Italian bread
  • 1 whole head of garlic
  • 2-3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Roast the Garlic:

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  • Cut the top off the head of garlic to expose the cloves, leaving the skin intact.
  • Place the garlic head on a piece of aluminum foil, drizzle it with a little olive oil, and wrap it in the foil.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes, or until the garlic is soft and fragrant. Let it cool slightly before using.
  1. Prepare the Bread:
    • Slice the French baguette or Italian bread in half horizontally.
  2. Make the Garlic Butter:
    • Squeeze the roasted garlic cloves out of their skins and mash them with a fork in a small bowl.
    • Mix the mashed garlic with the softened butter and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  3. Spread the Garlic Butter:
    • Spread the roasted garlic butter evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  4. Add the Cheese:
      • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the garlic butter on both halves of the bread.

    • Follow this with the grated Parmesan cheese.
  5. Bake the Bread:
    • Place the bread halves on a baking sheet and put it in the preheated oven.
  6. Broil Until Golden Brown:
    • Turn on the broiler and place the bread under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is golden brown. Be sure to watch it closely to prevent burning.
  7. Garnish:
    • Remove from the oven, and if desired, sprinkle fresh chopped parsley over the top for some extra flavor and color.
  8. Slice and Serve:
    • Slice the roasted garlic cheese bread into individual servings and serve it while it’s warm..
