Mediterranean Chicken Gyros
Ingredients (serves 4)
Chicken

1½ lb (700 g) boneless chicken breast or thighs

3 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp lemon juice

3 cloves garlic, minced

1½ tsp oregano

1 tsp paprika

½ tsp cumin

½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

Tzatziki Sauce

1 cup plain Greek yogurt

½ cucumber, grated & squeezed dry

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh dill or parsley, chopped

Salt to taste

For Assembly

Pita bread or flatbreads

Sliced cucumber

Sliced tomato

Red onion, thinly sliced

Lettuce (optional)

Instructions
1. Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
Add chicken and coat well.
Cover and marinate at least 30 minutes (up to overnight).

2. Cook the Chicken

Heat a pan or grill over medium-high heat.

Cook chicken 5–7 minutes per side until fully cooked and golden.

Rest 5 minutes, then slice into strips.

3. Make the Tzatziki

Mix yogurt, cucumber, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, herbs, and salt.
Chill for best flavor.

4. Assemble the Gyros

Warm the pita.

Add lettuce (if using).

Layer chicken, cucumber, tomato, and onion.

Drizzle generously with tzatziki.

Fold and serve.
