W/W Apple Crisp

For the Apple Filling:

4 cups sliced and peeled apples (about 4-5 medium-sized apples)
2 tablespoons granulated sugar substitute (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Crumble Topping:

1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar substitute
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter or margarine, melted (or use a butter substitute for fewer points)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar substitute, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Toss to coat the apples evenly.

Transfer the apple mixture to an 8×8-inch baking dish or a similar-sized ovenproof dish.

In a separate bowl, mix the oats, all-purpose flour, granulated sugar substitute, and salt.

Drizzle the melted butter or margarine (or butter substitute) and vanilla extract over the dry mixture. Stir until it forms a crumbly texture.

Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples in the baking dish.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.

Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the topping is golden brown, and the apples are tender.

Let the apple crisp cool slightly before serving. You can serve it warm or at room temperature.
