Tomato Mozzarella Basil Toast
Ingredients

4 slices of rustic bread (sourdough, baguette, or country bread)

1–2 ripe tomatoes, sliced

6–8 oz (170–225 g) fresh mozzarella, sliced

Fresh basil leaves, torn or whole

2–3 tbsp olive oil
-
Salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste
-
Dried oregano or Italian seasoning (optional)

1 small garlic clove (optional)
Instructions

Preheat oven

Set oven to 400°F (200°C).

Toast the bread
-
Place bread slices on a baking sheet.

Brush lightly with olive oil.

Bake for 5–7 minutes until lightly crisp.

(Optional) Rub warm toast with a cut garlic clove for extra flavor.

Add toppings
-
Layer mozzarella slices on each toast.

Add tomato slices on top.

Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and oregano.

Bake again
-
Return to oven for 8–10 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Finish

Top with fresh basil.

Drizzle with a little more olive oil.

Add extra pepper if you like.
