🛒 Ingredients

For the Pizza Stack

  • 2 large pizza doughs, homemade or store-bought
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ lb (225 g) ground beef
  • ½ lb (225 g) Italian sausage
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • ½ small onion, diced
  • ½ green bell pepper, diced
  • ½ cup sliced mushrooms
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes, optional
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prepare the meat: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, Italian sausage, and diced onion. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking the meat apart as it cooks.
  2. Stir in garlic powder, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Drain excess grease and set aside.
  3. Prepare the dough: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Divide the pizza dough into several portions and roll each into thin, similarly sized rounds.
  4. Build the first layer: Place one dough round on a parchment-lined baking sheet or pizza pan. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over it.
  5. Sprinkle with mozzarella, then add some of the cooked meat mixture, pepperoni, bell pepper, mushrooms, and a little cheddar.
  6. Stack: Place another dough round on top and repeat the sauce, cheese, meat, and toppings. Continue layering until all ingredients are used.
  7. Finish the top with pizza sauce, plenty of mozzarella, pepperoni, Parmesan, and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning.
  8. Bake: Bake for approximately 20–25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  9. Let the pizza stack rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil if desired.

🔥 Pro Tips

  • Don’t overload each individual layer with sauce; too much moisture can make the stack soggy.
  • For extra crispy pepperoni, place a few slices on the top during the final 5 minutes.
  • Add cooked bacon, ham, or sliced olives for an even more loaded pizza.
  • Allowing the stack to rest makes it much easier to cut into neat slices.
  • For a spicy version, add jalapeños and crushed red pepper.
