🛒 Ingredients

  • 1½ lb ground beef
  • ½ large head green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Brown the beef: Cook the ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add to slow cooker: Transfer the beef and onion to the slow cooker. Add cabbage, carrots, bell pepper, and garlic.
  3. Add tomatoes and broth: Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Slow cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the cabbage and carrots are tender.
  5. Finish: Stir well and taste for seasoning. Add more salt or pepper if needed.
  6. Serve: Ladle into bowls and garnish generously with fresh parsley.

🍽️ Serving Tip

For a low-carb meal, enjoy it as-is or serve with a simple green salad. For a heartier version, add cooked rice or potatoes to individual bowls.

💡 Pro Tip

Don’t cut the cabbage too finely—it will shrink considerably while cooking. Larger pieces stay tender and hearty instead of disappearing into the broth.
