Air Fryer Stir Fry Recipe

One of the amazing things about this dish is any type of meat, crispy tofu or vegetable can be integrated into this appetizing stir fry. Leftover roasted chicken, other meats, fresh or frozen veggies are also great to use and will help clean out your refrigerator at the same time.

Ingredients:

  • boneless chicken breast or thighs
  • sesame oil– like Kikkoman Sesame Oil
  • soy sauce
  • brown sugar– packed
  • chili powder
  • freshly grated ginger
  • portabella mushrooms
  • red bell pepper
  • orange bell pepper
  • white onion
  • fresh snow peas– or frozen

HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER STIR FRY:

  1. In a small bowl, combine sesame oil, soy sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, and freshly grated ginger. Whisk together until well combined.
  2. Pour sauce into a large shallow dish, or sealable bag. Add in the chicken pieces and toss until the chicken is covered in the sauce. Let meat pieces marinate for at least 30 minutes to an hour in your refrigerator.
  3. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil cooking spray. Then transfer marinated chicken to the air fryer basket. Toss in the mushrooms, onion, bell peppers and snow peas into the basket.
  4. Air fry at 380 degrees F for 7-9 minutes, toss food midway through the cooking process, until chicken has finish cooking and has an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.

I make this recipe in my Cosori 5.8 qt. air fryer. Depending on your air fryer, size and wattages, your cooking times may need to be adjusted 1-2 minutes.

Notes

Optional Additional Flavors: Garlic powder, orange sauce, black pepper, dark soy sauce, Italian seasoning, a few cloves garlic, hot sauce, a tablespoon rice vinegar, dry sherry or white vinegar.

Optional Toppings: Sesame seeds, sliced green onion, chopped peanuts, crushed potato chips, lemon wedges or zest, the crispiness of bacon bits or crunchy coating from breadcrumbs.

Substitutions: Frozen vegetables can replace fresh ones (cook time may slightly vary). Use tamari for gluten free option (tastes like soy but does not have wheat in it). Use vegetable oil, grapeseed oil or avocado oil if you do not have sesame oil.
