Air Fryer Quiche

Ingredients:

  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup half-and-half or heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your choice)
  • 1 cup chopped cooked bacon, ham, or your favorite veggies (spinach, mushrooms, etc.)
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Crust:
    • Roll out the pre-made pie crust and fit it into a small pie tin or quiche dish that fits in your air fryer. Trim any excess dough.
  2. Pre-cook the Crust:
    • Lightly spray the crust with cooking spray.
    • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
    • Place the crust in the air fryer basket and cook for 5 minutes to slightly firm up the crust. This helps prevent it from becoming soggy when the filling is added.
  3. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, half-and-half or cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.
    • Stir in the cheese, meat, veggies, and onion (if using).
  4. Assemble the Quiche:
    • Pour the filling mixture into the pre-cooked crust.
  5. Cook the Quiche:
    • Carefully place the filled quiche back into the air fryer basket.
    • Cook at 320°F (160°C) for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown. You may need to cover the crust edges with foil if they start to brown too quickly.
  6. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the quiche to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Tips:

  • You can customize the quiche with your favorite fillings, such as different cheeses, meats, or vegetables.
  • Make sure to check the quiche halfway through cooking. If the crust or top is browning too quickly, you can cover it loosely with foil.
  • Letting the quiche cool slightly before cutting will help it set and make it easier to serve.
