Ingredients:
- 1 pre-made pie crust
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup half-and-half or heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your choice)
- 1 cup chopped cooked bacon, ham, or your favorite veggies (spinach, mushrooms, etc.)
- 1/4 cup chopped onion (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
- Cooking spray
Instructions:
- Prepare the Crust:
- Roll out the pre-made pie crust and fit it into a small pie tin or quiche dish that fits in your air fryer. Trim any excess dough.
- Pre-cook the Crust:
- Lightly spray the crust with cooking spray.
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Place the crust in the air fryer basket and cook for 5 minutes to slightly firm up the crust. This helps prevent it from becoming soggy when the filling is added.
- Prepare the Filling:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, half-and-half or cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.
- Stir in the cheese, meat, veggies, and onion (if using).
- Assemble the Quiche:
- Pour the filling mixture into the pre-cooked crust.
- Cook the Quiche:
- Carefully place the filled quiche back into the air fryer basket.
- Cook at 320°F (160°C) for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown. You may need to cover the crust edges with foil if they start to brown too quickly.
- Cool and Serve:
- Allow the quiche to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Tips:
- You can customize the quiche with your favorite fillings, such as different cheeses, meats, or vegetables.
- Make sure to check the quiche halfway through cooking. If the crust or top is browning too quickly, you can cover it loosely with foil.
- Letting the quiche cool slightly before cutting will help it set and make it easier to serve.
