Chocolate Skillet Cake & Ice Cream!!!


  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup sugar or a sugar substitute for fewer points
  • 1/2 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup hot water


  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the applesauce, sugar, Greek yogurt, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Stir in the hot water until the batter is smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into a preheated, lightly greased skillet.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced and frozen
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  3. Serve the chocolate skillet cake warm with a scoop of homemade banana ice cream.
