Citrus Glazed Baked Fish

Ingredients

  • 4 fillets white fish (such as cod, halibut, or mahi-mahi)

  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice

  • 1 tablespoon orange zest

  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (optional, for depth of flavor)

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  • Fresh orange slices (for serving)

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

  2. Arrange the Fish: Place the fish fillets in a single layer in the prepared baking dish. Season lightly with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

  3. Make the Citrus Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the fresh orange juice, orange zest, honey (or maple syrup), melted butter (or olive oil), minced garlic, and soy sauce until well combined.

  4. Pour the Sauce: Pour the citrus glaze evenly over and around the fish fillets, ensuring they are well coated. Top with thin fresh orange slices.

  5. Bake: Bake uncovered for 12 to 15 minutes (depending on the thickness of the fillets), or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and the glaze is bubbly and slightly reduced.

  6. Serve: Spoon the remaining pan juices over the fish, garnish with fresh chopped parsley, and serve warm.
