Creamy Cheesy Sausage Wontons


  • 1/2 pound lean ground turkey or chicken sausage
  • 1/2 cup light cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup reduced-fat shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Wonton wrappers
  • Cooking spray


  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the Sausage:
    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the lean ground turkey or chicken sausage until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened light cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Fill the Wontons:
    • Place a teaspoon of the filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water and fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal.
  5. Bake the Wontons:
    • Place the filled wontons on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray.
  6. **Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the wontons are golden and crispy.
  7. Serve:
    • Allow the wontons to cool for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, serve with a light dipping sauce of your choice.
