Pork belly in the air fryer

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds pork belly
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar (for crispy skin)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional for color)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Pork Belly:
    • Score the pork belly skin with a sharp knife, being careful not to cut into the meat.
    • Pat the pork belly completely dry with paper towels.
  2. Season the Meat:
    • Rub the meat side (not the skin) with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
    • Lightly brush vinegar over the skin side to enhance crispiness.
  3. Bake for Crispy Skin:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Place the pork belly on a baking rack, skin side up, with a tray underneath to catch the drippings.
    • Bake for 45 minutes, then increase the heat to 425°F (220°C) for 15–20 minutes until the skin is bubbly and crispy.
  4. Rest and Serve:
    • Let the pork belly rest for 10 minutes before slicing into bite-sized pieces.
    • Pair with hoisin sauce, steamed buns, or roasted vegetables.
