Air Fryer French Toast Sticks

  • 4 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • Cooking spray or oil for greasing
  • Maple syrup, powdered sugar, or your favorite toppings for serving

  1. Prepare the bread: Start by removing the crusts from the bread slices. This is optional, but it will give your French toast sticks a cleaner appearance.

  2. Cut the bread into sticks: Cut each slice of bread into strips or sticks, about 1 inch wide.
  3. Whisk the egg mixture: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon (if using). This will be your dipping mixture.
  4. Dip the bread sticks: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, making sure to coat all sides. Allow any excess egg mixture to drip off.
  5. Grease the air fryer basket: Lightly grease the air fryer basket or tray with cooking spray or a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.
  6. Arrange the bread sticks: Place the coated bread sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  7. Air fry the sticks: Cook the French toast sticks in the preheated air fryer for about 5-7 minutes, turning them halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  8. Serve: Once the French toast sticks are done, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute. Serve them with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or your favorite toppings…
