Baked Stuffed Pears with Berries, Walnuts, and Cheese.

Description

This is an elegant, wholesome, and visually striking dessert or appetizer. Sweet, juicy pears are halved, cored, and roasted until tender, then stuffed with a vibrant medley of fresh blueberries, raspberries, crunchy walnuts, crumbled cheese (like goat cheese or blue cheese), a drizzle of honey or maple syrup, and fresh thyme.

Ingredients

  • Main Ingredients:

    • 3 ripe firm pears (like Bosc or Anjou), halved and cored

    • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries

    • 1/2 cup fresh raspberries

    • 1/4 cup walnuts (chopped)

    • 1/4 cup goat cheese or blue cheese (crumbled)

    • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (plus extra for drizzling)

    • Fresh thyme sprigs (for garnish)

    • 1 tablespoon melted butter or olive oil (to brush the pears)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare the Pears: Slice the pears in half lengthwise and use a melon baller or spoon to scoop out the core and seeds, creating a small cavity. Place them cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.

  3. Brush and Sweeten: Lightly brush the exposed flesh of the pears with melted butter or olive oil and drizzle with a little honey or maple syrup.

  4. Stuff: Fill the hollow centers and top the pears with chopped walnuts, crumbled cheese, fresh blueberries, and raspberries.

  5. Add Herbs and Bake: Garnish with fresh sprigs of thyme. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the pears are fork-tender and warm, and the cheese has slightly softened.
