2 slices of bread (your choice: white, wheat, sourdough, etc.)
2-3 slices of ham
1-2 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your preferred cheese)
1-2 tablespoons of butter or mayonnaise
Optional: mustard, pickles, or any other preferred condiments
Instructions:
Prepare the Sandwich:
Spread a thin layer of butter or mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread. This will help the bread get a nice golden, crispy texture in the air fryer.
Place a slice of cheese on the non-buttered side of one slice of bread.
Add the ham on top of the cheese.
If using additional condiments (mustard, pickles, etc.), add them on top of the ham.
Place the second slice of cheese on top of the ham (optional, for extra cheesiness).
Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
Air Fry the Sandwich:
Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (180°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
Place the sandwich in the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook one sandwich at a time.
Air fry the sandwich for 5-7 minutes, flipping halfway through. Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted to your liking.
Serve:
Remove the sandwich from the air fryer using a spatula.
Let it cool for a minute before cutting it in half.
Serve immediately and enjoy your crispy, melty air fryer ham and cheese sandwich!
Tips:
Experiment with different types of bread and cheese to find your favorite combination.
For added flavor, sprinkle a little garlic powder or herbs on the buttered side of the bread before air frying.
If you prefer a less crispy sandwich, reduce the cooking time slightly and keep an eye on it to prevent burning.
