Garlic Butter Lobster and Scallops

Description

This luxurious dish features succulent, tender lobster tails and perfectly seared, golden-brown sea scallops bathed in a rich, aromatic garlic and herb butter sauce. It is a stunning, restaurant-quality seafood feast that comes together easily at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 large lobster tails (fresh or thawed), butterflied

  • 1 lb sea scallops (pat-dried and tough side muscle removed)

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for searing scallops)

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prep the Seafood: Ensure the lobster tails are butterflied by cutting down the center of the shell to the tail, pulling the meat up, and resting it on top of the shell. Pat the sea scallops completely dry with paper towels and season both seafood items lightly with salt and pepper.

  2. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt 1/4 cup of the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant (do not burn). Stir in the lemon juice and remove from heat.

  3. Cook the Lobster Tails: Preheat your broiler or grill. Brush the lobster meat generously with the garlic butter mixture. Broil the lobster tails for about 8 to 10 minutes, or until the meat is opaque and cooked through.

  4. Sear the Scallops: Heat the olive oil and remaining butter in a large skillet over high heat until smoking hot. Sear the scallops in a single layer without overcrowding. Cook for 1.5 to 2 minutes on each side until a golden-brown crust forms.

  5. Combine and Serve: Arrange the broiled lobster tails and seared scallops on a serving platter. Drizzle the remaining garlic butter sauce and chopped fresh parsley all over the top. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
